Viva Thai Film Company, in conjunction with local administrators, invites people to attend the Songkran festivities planned at Langsuan in Bangkok, entertainment will include various music concerts and an evening foam party.

Bangkok, the 14th of April 2010 [PDN]: Under the slogan “The Colour of Songkran” Viva Thai Film Company has joined forces with local administrators to welcome residents and tourists alike to the Chidlom Intersection in the Langsuan district for the Songkran (Thai New Year) festivities and entertainment.

The festival will be held at the Chidlom Intersection of the Sarasin Road in Bangkok over the 16th to the 17th of April. The opening ceremony will begin with the offering of food to Buddhist monks at 6:00am with the preceding festival scheduled to run up until midnight of the 17th.

The Langsuan Road (reportedly the shortest road in Bangkok, AKA ‘High-So Road’) will be the main focal point for this years Songkran water festival. Entertainment will include musical performances by some well renowned Thai rock and reggae artists including, Jay and Joe Wattanasin. A Foam party will also be provided during the evening where festival goers are encouraged to come bikini/swimsuit clad and armed with water pistols. The entire ‘short’ length of Langsuan Road will be closed for the 2 day festival, the first time that this has occurred in the events history.

Tentatively titled ‘The Colour of Songkran’ festival organisers encourage people to forget about the current political chaos affecting the national by coming together in celebration of the traditional Thai New Year.
