Here comes the rain again

After a month of scorching heat, Bangkok residents can finally see a few dark clouds forming on the horizon and just recently may have felt a sprinkle of rain or two - a sure sign that the rainy season is near. 'Muse' asked how you prepare yourself for the monsoon season and its extreme downpours and heavy winds? Do you feel the need to carry any extra belongings to ensure that you stay dry, cold-free and happy, or do you regularly inspect your vehicle to ensure safety on the roads? Here are your answers!

"First, I carefully examine the big trees in my garden to check whether they are likely to collapse in a storm. If that is the case, I have somebody trim them so as to avoid a potential accident in the case of a heavy storm.

Also, during the rainy season, I always carry a tiny umbrella with me because the weather these days is quite unpredictable and you never know when it is going to rain. An umbrella can protect me from both catching a cold and getting a skin disease from contaminated rainfall.

Finally, car and motorcycle drivers should spend some time reading books or manuals suggesting how to drive safely in the rain for their own safety as well as others on the road."
